The 1870 Bed and Breakfast is located in Indian Lake, New York. It is in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains, which is the largest park in the contiguous United States. Hamilton County, one of the largest in the state, has lots of trees but not one traffic light. There are no fast food restaurants, no malls, no parking garages, no parking meters, no crime. There is great hiking - mountains or woods; there are many beaches, at rivers or lakes; boating, canoeing and kayaking opportunities abound. Indian Lake is the 'Whitewater Capital of New York State.' Eleven miles away, in Blue Mountain Lake, are the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts and the Adirondack Museum.  Boat tours of Blue Mt. Lake and Raquette Lake are both interesting and informative.
